Look Cycle Keo 2 Max Carbon Road Pedal - $220.00

Look has made seemingly subtle changes in their Keo design in the Keo 2 Max Carbon pedals, which add up to a profound improvement. People loved the weight and function of the Look Keos, but found they wore out the carbon fiber pedal bodies. There had to be a better way, a way that would offer everything of the Keo and yet more. The solution was brilliant and simple. A stainless steel wear plate atop the center of the pedal body that will never wear out. But they did more than add a cap to their pedals. They redesigned the shape so it is wider, amongst the widest clipless pedals around. This 57mm platform width helps increase the surface area that contacts the cleat to 340mm, but that doesn't effect the cornering clearance as the pedal body is narrower on the bottom. In fact, they will corner better than the older Keo design and better than Shimano Dura Ace.Look also went to town on their axle. They increased the diameter to 12mm on the crank side for greater stiffness. And they kept the stack height to a minimum, 15.7mm. To make sure the pedal runs smoothly for years, there are two roller bearings on the crank side, and a needle bearing on the outside of the spindle. The bearings are hidden behind two seals as well. This is the pedal that was under Alberto Contador when he won the Tour de France in 2009, and when Cadel Evans won the World Championship road race. It was also used by their teams (Astana and Silence-Lotto), and almost all the hard-hitting pros on Cofidis, Katusha, Lampre, and Quick Step. The Keo 2 Max Carbon pedal bodies are made with injected carbon fiber. The wear plate is stainless steel. The axle is stainless steel. The Q-Factor is 53mm, and can be increased to 55mm with the use of a 2mm spacer that goes between the spindle and the crank (sold separately). The release tension can be adjusted from 12-18Nm. There are three float options for the cleats, fixed aka zero float (Black) cleats, 4. - $220.00
