CycleOps PowerCal with Speed Sensor - $140.00

CycleOps PowerCal offers an innovative way to measure training efforts by using heart rate to calculate and estimate power output, making it an economical and accessible way to train with power! Designed for enthusiasts who want the benefits of training with power output data without the cost of hub- or crankset-based phsyical power meters. Based on correlative data patterns, the PowerCal translates heart rate into the language of power-based training-watts, kilojoules, peak power-for interpretation. While not as precise as a direct-measurement power meter that uses strain gauges, the PowerCal delivers an indirect calculation based on your heart rate. This approximation of exercise intensity and energy expenditure enables consistent measurement of physical activity, letting you tailor training or simply geek out on the data. To boot, the multisport functionality lets you use the same unit of measure (power output) across training activities, such as running. Includes the CycleOps Speed Sensor, which can be configured to detect speed or cadence on your bike. Compatible with ANT+ devices, be it a cycling computer such as the CycleOps Joule (sold separately) or your ANT+ enabled GPS watch. Please note: the PowerCal is not as accurate as a PowerTap power meter and is not intended to replace one; accuracy will depend greatly on the individual and type of riding. Also of note: the device is more reliable during consistent efforts, such as longer, steadier intervals or during a climb, where constant fluctuations in output are minimized. The CycleOps PowerCal operates on a replaceable CR2032 battery and has an estimated 600 hrs. of operation on one battery. - $140.00
